The place looks nice, clean and professional so decided to give it a try and decided to do some private lessons also. They charged $100/h and it was taught by a blue belt student which I didn't understand because usually it's a higher ranked instructor who would do privates for the hefty charge. I saw the true colors of the gym.

I joined for a year but I had to move out of province, so I attempted to cancel my membership. The next month I was charged again, and I called in to get them to stop charging me. They said they did but they charged me again the next month at which I had to go to my bank to block them. If you want to join a scammy gym that charges you long after you cancel your membership, don't hesitate to start today! SCAMMERS

I have been training at Lin Martial Arts for about a year and a half now. It’s such a fun environment to train in and coaches and staff are very friendly and world-class. I feel like I am part of something bigger; a family that support each other towards the common goal of becoming better in martial arts and in life. Before joining the team at Lin Martial Arts, I biked quite a bit and I did rock climbing; basically I was semi-athletic. Fast forward to a year and a half later, boy am I athletic now … :) My cardio is off the chart and I have built quite a lot of explosiveness and power. Also before joining Lin MMA, I had no idea about any martial arts. Professor Lin and other coaches guided me by helping me understand the basics first and then building good technique on top of that. Basically, everyday, I learn something new, I have lots of fun and get in better shape. If any of that sounds good to you, I definitely recommend joining Lin Martial Arts. It will be the best decision you have ever made.

At 47 years of age, I was tired, tired, stressed, burned out and beaten up. I was desperately looking for something than could help rejuvenate my life. I had joined many gyms, sports leagues before but they always lacked something...seem antiseptic, missed a certain fire or genuine passion. I searched the internet and found Lin Martial Arts. From the first phone call the team showed a real enthusiasm for trying to help me. They were very understanding and encouraging. My first two weeks were difficult for me, I was out of shape and felt old and useless. The coaches (now my close friends) were patient, humorous and a joy to be around. They made hard thing easy. I soon learned to trust their expert level of guidance and instruction. I now have lost 20 lbs and am doing things I couldn't do at 20 yrs of age. Master Lin and the coaches have created an environment where people of all ages and levels can excel. I feel like I'm at the top of the world. See you all in the UFC. Thank you Master Lin and Team! PS. Notice any of the few reviews are by people that don't have pictures. When you go to their profiles the only posting they have are a couple of negative reviews of health clubs. It is probably a competitor. They do this stuff all the time.

I first heard about Lin Martial Arts back in 2008-2009 when I lived in Markham and was surprised when I discovered it was just down the street. My roommate and I went to check it out and were blown away at how skilled the students were and how efficient and knowledgeable Master Steve was. I was hooked immediately. However, due to my work schedule I ended up leaving for a few years and came back in 2014. When I came back in 2014, I was 220 lbs and had no cardio. I was a little embarrassed about my fitness level when I joined, but the team was supportive and within a few weeks I was able to keep up with my fellow students. I lost a tremendous amount of weight (around 40 lbs) from just training and had a great time learning and appreciating jujitsu. Master Steve and his team of world class instructors are incredible when it comes to teaching the art of jujitsu and you'll have a fun work out with each class. I highly recommend this gym, there is none like it anywhere else.

I began my BJJ training ten years ago under the tutelage of Professor Lin. The structured and methodical approach to technique and training Professor Lin taught me have transcended my BJJ career and helped me in many different areas of life. If you've ever saw the facility's at Lin Martial Arts its top of the line. There definitely were no gyms of this quality ten years ago when I started. Above all else the most valuable thing to be gained from training here is the coaching staff and their focus on skill and technique. A very warm and welcoming atmosphere as well.

When I decided to start training BJJ, I wanted to learn from the best. After visiting a variety of MMA gyms in 2013, I found Lin Martial Arts and haven't left since. Firstly, Lin Martial Arts is organized! The classes ran smoothly and there were different programs for different levels of skills or goals. Secondly, Lin Martial Arts was clean! The mats and equipment are regularly cleaned and there are showers you can use after class. Thirdly, I was accepted! Unlike other gyms where I would feel unwelcome, Lin Martial Arts instructors introduced themselves as soon as I walked in and there was no intimidating stares from anyone! The detailed instruction and the friendly environment is exactly what I was longing for. After about a year of training at Lin Martial Arts, I decided to compete in a BJJ tournament to see if what I was learning really worked. After 12 matches and only 1 loss, I left the tournament with gold and silver medals. In addition to that, the Lin Martial Arts team brought back more medals than we had competitors! Lin Martial Arts has a very unique system and whether you're a beginner trying something new or experienced in martial arts, you won't regret checking this gym out!

I walked into Lin Martial Arts four years ago looking for a new way to keep in shape and learn what Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was all about. I had no martial arts background and it was a bit intimidating coming in on day one. What I found was a welcoming atmosphere with a curriculum designed to slowly ease you in. Four years later this place feels like home and everyone here is like family. I've become better both on and off the mats learning from Professor Lin, his amazing coaches and students. Lin Martial Arts will make you better, all you gotta do is show up!

I was amazed by the structure they have for their students at all levels. They assess your skills and interests to make sure your goals are met. Coach Lin and all the teachers show a lot of care and definitely bring a friendly vibe to mat. Its a dojo that raises the bar for sure and makes your game grow. Osu

I've been a student for just over two years now, and it's been an amazing experience. The instruction is world class and meticulous, the staff is fantastic, and the team is like a family. At Lin's I've been able to get into great shape, learn a truly effective system of martial arts, push myself, and have a ton of fun while doing it. I even got several of my friends to join as well and they're loving it. I can't say enough good things about Lin Martial Arts.
